Pre-Construction & Foundations

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama (TMMAL) underwent a 300,000 square foot expansion to facilitate production of an additional 216,000 V6 engines per year.

Stenco was awarded the pre-construction and foundations bid package in October 2012. To accommodate existing plant production requirements, preliminary project work was split into two distinct phases. Phase 1 involved preparing the plant infrastructure for new construction. Modifications were made to truck docks, the plant ring road, trailer parking, guard shacks, turn styles, and the truck scale, and the GMI building was also relocated. This preliminary work permitted the start of Phase 2, including the relocation of underground site utilities, earthwork, and building foundation construction.

Stenco’s pre-construction and foundations work was followed by the award of the project general contract package to Aristeo.
